He committed to play for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but due to his uncertainty before joining the Sooners, he left fans and experts wondering. Speaking about this, he said,
Soon after choosing Oregon yesterday morning, I came to the realization that the direction was not the best path for me. I immediately started to rethink my future.
He added,
Oregon and Notre Dame faithful, I am sorry for how I handled this process.
Following a contract change earlier this week for Dante Moore, Bowen is the second player to reverse course after reaching an agreement with the Ducks.
