Nicknamed “Snakebite”, Peter’s Mohawk-styled hair with its distinct colour blends is what attracts a lot of attention from audiences. And what’s interesting is the fact that his wife Joanne Wright herself happens to be the now-two time PDC World Darts championship winner’s hairstylist.

Born on March 10th, 1970 in Scotland, Wright is currently 51-years of age. Even though he was raised in Mendham, Suffolk, England for a major part of his life, Wright chose to represent Scotland because it’s where he was born. Before he got into professional dart playing, Wright worked as a tire fitter. There isn’t much information about his family members as of now.

Wright started his darts career with the 1995 BDO World Darts Championship. It was 10 years later i.e. in 2005 that he won his first major title in PDC competitions. He did not participate in any competitions for 3 years after that until 2008. His performance was significantly better in 2009 as compared to 2008.

The Las Vegas Desert Classic was where he made his televised debut in the year 2009. Wright managed to proceed for the 2009 World Matchplay as a result of his victory. The eight UK Open Qualifiers has seen Wright lose twice in the quarter-finals. But he clinched his second-career ranking championship later that same month at the sixth Players Championship. Wright’s heroics secured him a spot in the Premier League’s first team in the year 2013. The same year saw him reach and win the final of the European Darts Open. Along with this, Wright was named Most Improved Player and PDPA Player of the Year at the PDC’S Annual Awards in January 2014.

Wright did not drop a single set during his trip to the third round of the 2016 World Championship. In addition to that, he won three of his six events to take hold of the lead position in the UK Open Standings. In 2017, Peter collected his first World Series of Darts title at the 2017 German Darts Masters by defeating Taylor 11-4 in the final.
