A former linebacker of Penn State LB Bani Gbadyu left us for his heavenly abode, know his wife and cause of death

Bani passed away on Saturday Morning, Oct 22.

The 34-year-old was died due to complications from pancreatic cancer. He was admitted in ICU of the Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania.

As per a report by York Daily Record, his cancer was detected a month ago during a doctor’s visit.

The sad news of player’s demise came a week after when he opened up about his cancer struggle to his fans in a Facebook post.

In his post, he penned down, “I feel blessed that there is an army invading heaven with prayers on my behalf.

“I hope that my journey can be a lesson for someone, at some point in time. We are going to lean on God and Fight On. #FightOnBani.”

He is survived by his wife Molly and 3 children.

Who is Bani Gbadyu?

Bani, who played for Penn State back in 2007 to 2010, was escaped from war torn Liberia as a child.

During his time for Penn State, he was an special teamer as well as a key backup and a part time starter.

The player was the captain at Quince Orchard HS. During his senior season, while playing for Coach Dave Mencarini, Gbadyu earned a Washington Post All-Met honors.

At the time with Penn State, during his 4 seasons, he overall faced somwhat around 118 tackels, out of which 7 tackles were for a loss, one for interception, one pass breakup and one forced fumble.

After college football career, the player went on to join Oakland Raiders for tryout. However, he never get to play a game for them.

While the player was hospitalized, his family set up an GoFundMe Page for Bani in hope to get help for his diagnosis.

The statement of the page reads, “If you have ever experienced the joy and happiness of meeting Bani, it’s likely a memory you will always cherish and remember.”

The statement further added, “His amazing wife, Molly, and he are people of faith who believe in prayer and trust God is giving the doctors and nurses involved in his care all the knowledge and skills they need to treat him.
