Pedro Porro has completed his long-rumored move from Sporting to Tottenham, know his salary at the club
The right back is joining on loan until the โฌ45 million (ยฃ39.7 million) deal is made official in the summer.
Since the beginning of January, there have been back-and-forth negotiations that haven’t been easy. Spurs didn’t want to pay Porro’s old clubs solidarity payments, and they didn’t want to pay for the deal all at once.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly paying Pedro Porro a contract worth around ยฃ85000-a-week which would be worth 5 million euros annually. He will wear the number 23 shirt at the club.
Monday night, there was a breakthrough, which meant Pedro Porro could go to London for his medical. Spurs have to pay the money they owe to Sporting by July 1. The buyout clause in Porro’s contract was worth โฌ45 million. It is thought that the clause stopped being used around the end of January.
Joining Spurs on an initial โฌ5m loan fee for the remainder of the season, Porro signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with an obligation to buy for 39 million pounds in the summer.

Antonio Conte, the Spurs manager, wanted to improve most at right wing-back. To make room for Porro’s arrival, the club let Matt Doherty’s contract expire and let him join Atlรฉtico Madrid. They also sent Djed Spence on loan to Rennes until the end of the season. Emerson Royal is Conte’s last choice for right wing-back.
Pedro Porro has done very well since he moved from Manchester City to Sporting, first on loan in 2020 and then permanently for โฌ8.5 million last summer. He was a key member of the team that won the Portuguese title in 2020-21. This was the club’s first title win in 19 years.
Not all are happy with Pedro Porro
Some frustrated Spurs fans have asked him to step down at recent games, putting pressure on Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. Levy felt he had to back the more popular Conte, even though the manager hasn’t committed to staying with the club past the end of the season.
Last week, Levy gave Spurs permission to sign Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma on loan. Spurs have the option to make the deal permanent in the summer, which let them loan Bryan Gil to Sevilla. Conte has always wondered if Gil was tough enough to play in the Premier League. Danjuma is more robust.
In the summer of 2021, Spurs paid Sevilla ยฃ21.6m for Gil. In exchange, Sevilla sent รrik Lamela to Spurs. When they loaned Gil to Valencia in January of last year, Conte thought that the purchase had been a mistake and that the club was making too many mistakes in the market.
