On Thursday night, Barcelona lost Pedri to injury against Manchester United, and preliminary information indicates that the 20-year-old could miss a month of action.

The Spanish international was unable to have an influence during his 40 minutes of play as he hobbled off before halftime of Thursday’s dramatic 2-2 Europa League quarterfinal first leg stalemate against Manchester United.

How many matches will Pedri miss?

According to Mundo Deportivo, Pedri will be sidelined for the next three to four weeks, which will prevent him from playing in several important matches, including the return match at Old Trafford next week.

Along with missing the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinal matchup against Real Madrid, Pedri will also miss the La Liga games against Cadiz, Almeria, Valencia, and Athletic.

Next Thursday’s meeting against Manchester United will see Barcelona without Pedri and Gavi due to the latter’s suspension after receiving a card in the first leg. Sergio Busquets, though, is anticipated to play Sunday against Cadiz.

When will Pedri return to action?

No specific time has been given for when Pedri would be available again, but SPORT and COPE estimate that the number “8” will be sidelined for at least three weeks and possibly up to four.
