The PDC World Darts Championship which kickstarted on December 15, 2021 is underway and sports lovers are deriving extreme happiness. World Darts Championship is named after its sponsor William Hill World Darts Championship.

The winner will be awarded attractive prize money of £500k share while the runner up will receive £200k.

With huge money at stake, competition is heating up and accordingly, winners are doubling their earnings. A player who entered the quarterfinals is getting £50,000 and that is £7,500 more than the round 1 losers. As the tournament progresses the players’ prize money gets doubled. The participating 96 players receive a minimum of £7500 and the seeded players have been assured of £15,000.

Players who reach the third round will get £25,000 and those who reach the fourth round are assured of £35,000. The amount for the semi-finalists is doubled and so is the case with the runner up. The winner will get more than double the runner-up. While the semifinalists get £100,000, the runner up gets £200,000. The winner takes away a fancy sum of £500,000.

Peter Wright is locking horns with Michael Smith and he is aiming to become the two-time world PDC champion. It is coming out that Peter Wright beat Michael Smith to the PDC World Darts title. Peter Wright sealed his second PDC World Championship in a tense encounter against Michael Smith, hitting back from 5-4 down to win 7-5.

Peter Wright after winning the trophy and receiving £500,000, said “Obviously I’m over the moon … I did it … but, you know … obviously me and Mike didn’t perform how we can. I can’t explain what went wrong for 90 percent of that match. I just kept swapping darts, trying to find something. The atmosphere in here just affected my darts so badly, it affected Michael’s as well … but, you know, it will be Michael’s turn soon.
