PDC World Cup of Darts 2022 Tournament Format
This year’s competition will feature 32 teams, with the top eight seeded and the remaining 24 teams seeded in the first round. The competition will be a straight knockout, as it has been in recent years. There were suggestions that a new format will be introduced, similar to the 2022 Premier League Darts, but it was put on hold for at least another year.
The first round will be a best-of-nine-legs pairs competition. In the meanwhile, the second round, quarter-finals, and semi-finals will be two best-of-seven singles matches. If the scores are tied, the match will be decided by a best of seven legged doubles match.
Three points will be required to win the final of the championship. There are two best-of-seven-legs singles matches, followed by a best-of-seven-legs doubles match. To select the champion, one or two best-of-seven-legs singles matches are played in reverse order if necessary.
