PDC World Cup of Darts 2022 Tournament Rules and Format
The competition is being played in a knockout format, as it has been in previous years. There were rumors that a new format, similar to Premier League Darts, might be adopted in 2022, but that has been put on hold for at least another year.
In the first round, a best-of-nine-legs pairs match was contested. In the meanwhile, the second round, quarter-finals, and semi-finals will all feature two best-of-seven singles matches. If the scores are tied, the victor will be decided by a best-of-seven legged doubles match.
Tickets for the event can be found here.

The quarter-final line-up comprises all eight seeded nations for the first time in World Cup history, setting up a spectacular finish at the Eissporthalle on Sunday.
After a thrilling match against Portugal’s Jose De Sousa and Vtor Jerónimo, Scottish combo Peter Wright and John Henderson will face top seeds England in a mouth-watering last eight clash. Meanwhile, Michael Smith and James Wade are vying for England’s first World Cup title since 2016, as they battled through Latvia’s Madars Razma and Hauris Gleglu in a hard-fought match.
Wales duo of Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton had survived a severe scare earlier in the day before edging Austria’s Mensur Suljovic and Rowby-John Rodriguez in a tense deciding-leg shoot-out. With an impressive effort in their second round triumph over 2019 finalists Republic of Ireland, Dutch duo Danny Noppert and Dirk van Duijvenbode delivered a message to their championship challengers.
