AS Roma forward Paulo Dybala was forced to leave the field in the 48th minute of their Serie A clash against Lecce. Dybala pulled up holding his left leg after scoring from the penalty spot in the 48th minute. He was unable to walk properly after scoring the game-winning penalty for AS Roma, which ultimately turned out to be a torn thigh muscle injury.

Paulo Dybala is likely to miss the Qatar World Cup 2022

AS Roma forward Paulo Dybala suffered a critical injury after scoring the game-winning penalty against Lecce and was forced to leave the field in the 48th minute. While teammates who had raced to congratulate him immediately transitioned to expressing concern, he sighed and continued to grip his thigh. Dybala then limped off the field and was substituted right immediately. The Argentine will now be out until the end of the year, which means Dybala’s ambition of participating in the World Cup may be over. Jose Mourinho, the head coach of AS Roma, spoke to the media regarding Dybala’s condition and stated:

“I don’t say (Dybala is) extremely, very horrible. I just say it’s bad. Unfortunately, it is worse than (just) awful, according to Mourinho, who spoke to DAZN. The Portuguese coach continued by speculating that Dybala will likely find it challenging to make a comeback until 2023.

He said, “I’m not a doctor, and I haven’t spoken to one, but based on my experience and what I learned from talking to Paulo, it (would be) hard.”

Dybala will now undergo medical testing to determine the severity of his injury and whether or not he will be able to compete in the World Cup. The Qatar World Cup 2022 begins on November 20, and Dybala’s injury has caused a major setback for Argentina. We hope Dybala recovers quickly before the World Cup. Dybala joined AS Roma during the summer transfer window and has scored five goals in eight appearances.
