At the Paris Summer Games, a total of 172 players—86 in the men’s category and 86 in the women’s category—will compete across five medal events. Sreeja Akula and Manika Batra are poised to be India’s top-seeded table tennis players at the Paris 2024 Olympics, which will commence on July 27. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced the seedings on Tuesday. Each singles event will feature 67 seeded players, while 16 teams are seeded in both the men’s and women’s team events.

Sreeja Akula, who recently achieved a career-high world ranking of No. 24, has surpassed Manika Batra as India’s leading women’s singles player. Batra, currently ranked 28th globally, is seeded just two places behind Akula for the Paris Games. Veteran player Sharath Kamal, making his fifth Olympic appearance, is seeded 24th, while national champion Harmeet Desai, ranked 86th in the world, is seeded 49th and will be making his Olympic debut.
