2024 Paris Olympics opening and closing ceremonies
The opening ceremony of this year’s Olympics will take place on Friday, July 26, 2024. However, the competition will begin two days ahead of this on Wednesday, July 24 starting with preliminary rounds. The preliminary rounds will be in the following four events: archery, handball, football and rugby sevens.
The opening ceremony will take place on the Seine River, with over 10,000 athletes set to compete in the competition. Once the competition ends after three weeks of nonstop action, the closing ceremony will finally take place at 3 p.m. on August 11. The Stade de France, which is located just north of Paris will host the closing ceremony. The stadium has a seating capacity of 80,698, and it has the largest stadium capacity in France.
On 26 July 2024, the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony will take place. Paris 2024 has revealed the start time for the ceremony, with the event beginning at 7.30 p.m. CET (10.30 a.m. in Los Angeles, 2.30 p.m. in Rio de Janeiro, 6.30 p.m. in London, 8.30 p.m. in Athens, 11.00 p.m. in India).
In India, the live telecast of the Paris 2024 Olympics will be available on Sports18 while it can be live streamed on JioCinema from July 26 to August 11, 2024 and in France, the Games will be telecast on Eurosport.

This year’s competition will feature break dancing as well as new events added across multiple sports like athletics, boxing, canoe slalom, shooting, sailing and sport climbing.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which took place in 2021 had 48 events with 339 medals. Meanwhile, this year’s event will feature slightly less with 44 different events and a total of 329 medals. Given below is a list of all the events that will take place at the event.
