Know more about the list of sports that will be played at the Paris Olympics 2024 and when and where the event will be held
For the unversed, Sports at the Paris Olympic Games 2024 are all set to be held soon. In December 2020, breakdancing, sport climbing, skateboarding, and surfing were added to the Paris Olympic Games program, bringing the total to 32 sports and 329 events.
Breakdancing will debut now, while new events like kiteboarding will be part of sailing in 2024. Compared to the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, karate, baseball, and softball have been dropped.

There will also be new events added across multiple sports, including in athletics, boxing, canoe slalom, shooting, sailing, sport climbing.
This year, there will be 44 different events with a total of 329 medals, which is slightly down from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics which had 339 medals.

This year, there will be fewer events, mainly due to reduced weight categories in boxing and weightlifting, and a reduction in the number of athletes compared to the Tokyo Olympics.

For the first time, there will be 100% gender equality in athlete quotas. A new marathon race walk event will debut in 2024, replacing the men’s 50km race walk.
Teams of one male and one female will compete in alternating legs of just over 10km each for a total marathon distance of 42.2km (26.2 miles).
Tournament Schedule
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games are scheduled from July 26 to August 11, 2024, followed by the Paralympic Games from August 28 to September 8.
The Olympic Torch will travel from Olympia, arriving by boat in Marseilles on May 8, before embarking on a 68-day journey around France.
Paris Olympic 2024 Mascots
The mascots for Paris 2024, Olympic Phryge and Paralympic Phryge, are based on the Phrygian cap, a symbol of the French Republic and freedom.
The Paralympic Phryge has a prosthesis and a racing blade. Breaking tradition, the River Seine will host the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, with athletes traveling by boat along a six-kilometer route.
