Since Overwatch 2 is now available for consoles and computers, several people are unsure of what MIT stands for or represents on the game’s scoreboard, know its meaning
OW2 had a difficult launch day. The game was subjected to a DDoS attack, and the price of skins hasn’t exactly won over players. Additionally, not all of the original fans are happy about the action’s permanent switch from 6v6 to 5v5.
Long server wait times may make it challenging to find a match, but when playing, both new and seasoned players are perplexed by one specific number on the scoreboard.

WTF MEANS MIT IN OVERWATCH 2?
On the Overwatch 2 scoreboard, the term “MIT” refers to “mitigated damage.” Since it’s a brand-new statistic for OW2, it makes sense that both devoted fans and novices are perplexed. It is a “new statistic that incorporates the previous Damage Blocked, but also keeps track of damage avoided by effects such as Ana’s Nano Boost or Orisa’s Fortify,” according to the original beta patch notes from back in July.
For this statistic, tank heroes have the highest defensive capabilities, therefore you should do better with D.Va, the brand-new Junker Queen, Orisa, and Sigma.
The Overwatch 2 scoreboard has modified the Assist statistic in addition to MIT. This now calculates a player’s earnings for what was once known as Defensive or Offensive Assists. Other modifications from the PvP betas are listed here and remain in effect:
- Completed reorganisation of the layout, grouping the most crucial data for easier viewing.
- Enhanced final progress indicators that now display numbers
- Transparency has been increased to let you see more of the game action while looking at the scoreboard.

You can see columns for E, A, D, DMG, H, and MIT on the scoreboard. All of these terms refer to the following: Hero Damage Done, Healing Done, Damage Mitigated, Assists, Deaths, and Eliminations.
There is a good game in Overwatch 2 hidden somewhere beneath all of these issues. We gave the sequel high marks in our review and said that it “breathes new life into what was once the sharpest online shooter around before it had its edges badly dulled by Blizzard’s attention veering away.”
