The Toronto Sun says that Alex Bodger, who is known on TikTok as Gora Pakora, filmed the heartbreaking video of the attack and took a selfie next to the victim’s dead body while smiling and filming the brutal scene. People are outraged by what Bodger did, and many criticise him for making money off of a horrible crime.
Alex Bodger told Global News that the scary event had a big effect on him. “It’s not something you think you would see walking down the street in Vancouver on a Sunday,” Bodger said. “Every time I think about the situation, I get this feeling in my chest which is pure fear.”
But a Twitter thread says that Alex Bodger took a selfie next to the body of the victim and came back the next day to smoke at the scene of the crime. The TikToker later posted a video in which he tried to explain what he had done by saying that he smiles when he is in “uncomfortable situations.”

In the video, Bodger says that he started filming as he was running towards what he thought was a street fight. He says that his brain wouldn’t let him believe what was going on. And that he was so scared that he had to smile. Alex Bodger then says that a person’s life is pointless to him if he doesn’t know them.
Ashley Umali, who was going to get drinks when the attack happened, saw her partner take his last breaths. Kathy Schmidt, the mother of the victim, told the New York Post, “This is so horribly wrong what happened. He was just trying to protect his daughter. I’m angry and I’m sad.”
Killer arrested and charged after Alex Bodger video goes viral
Inderdeep Singh Gosa, the person who killed the man, was caught in the Starbucks and charged with second-degree murder. People are upset about what happened, and many are calling for Bodger to be held responsible for his actions.
The event shows the bad side of social media and how it could hurt people. Now more than ever, it’s important to use social media responsibly. And think about what’s right and wrong when filming traumatic events.
