Oregon tight end Spencer Webb passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in a cliff diving accident near Triangle Lake in Lane County, Oregon, know his age, death reason and stats

Oregon Ducks star player, died in a tragic accident yesterday. As per the reports, Spencer slipped and hit his head while cliff diving. His body was was 10 yards below the steep trail when police arrived.

Spencer Webb Biography

22-year-old Spencer Webb was a junior at the University of Oregon from Sacramento. Spencer was raised by his older brother, Cody. He studied in a highly reputable school in Sacramento. His height stood at 6 feet 7 inches.

He was currently playing for Oregon Ducks after being recruited in 2018. Webb started three games last season. He was all set to join Oregon Team in 2022 and was preparing for redshirt junior season.

Back in the 2019 season, Webb played 12 games for Oregon Ducks in which he finished with18 catches for 209 yards and three touchdown receptions.

Last year, He caught 13 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown.

Sheriff Statement

As per the reports, the police were informed around 2:39 pm about the accident.

The statement released from Sherif’s office said, “The Lane County Sheriff’s Office responded to the rock slides just a short distance west of Triangle Lake at approximately 2:30 pm after receiving the report of an injured person.”

He further continued, “Upon arrival, deputies learned that a 22 year old male recreating in the area fell and struck his head. Bystanders and responding paramedics were unable to revive him. Lane County Sheriff Search and Rescue personnel responded to assist with bringing him back to the roadway as he was approximately 100 yards down a steep trail.”

In his statement, the sheriff also confirmed that the incident was an accident. He added, “There is no evidence of foul play and his death appears to be accidental.”

The police however did not release the identity of the victim. It was later confirmed by the player’s family on July 13, afternoon at around 4 pm.

The coach of the Oregon Team also paid his tributes to the gifted player. He wrote in a tweet, “So full of life in every moment of the day. Your smile and energy will be missed Spencer. I love you!”
