Location, Experience, and Safety measures

The open-water swimming site has opened at the right time for summer and will run daily until the end of September. Nearby residents, visitors, and employees now have the benefit of taking a dip in the waters of Middle Dock. Not only this, but people can also enjoy the views of the iconic One Canada Square and Newfoundland while swimming.

The exact location of the venue is at the bottom of Cubitt Steps, under the MacKenzie Walk bridge, right next to the Humble Grape. The open water swimming project is supported by NOWCA, the UK’s largest network of safe open water venues. Love Open Water will ensure regularly testing of the water at Canary Wharf. It will also ensure that it reaches high levels of cleanliness by using the latest technology. All these measures will make it completely clean and safe to swim in.

Lifeguards will be on duty for every session. Each session will ensure that people of all abilities and skills, over the age of 10, will enjoy the experience. The entrance point to the water is from the pontoon next to Humble Grape on Mackenzie Walk. There, swimmers will find changing huts to get ready.

Prices and Membership benefits

To avail of the experience, swimmers just need to purchase a NOWCA membership for £15/year. This will grant them all access to 40 NOWCA locations in the UK. The membership also comes with sessions running throughout the week, including weekends for each location. Each open water swimming session, which is about a three-to-four-hour session, will cost you £8 per person. You can also try taking part in the free NOWCA Swim event that features regularly.
