Since then, fans have been looking for any new information on the anime. However, given the passage of time, there is a significant likelihood that One Punch Man season 3 will be postponed until 2024.
One Punch Man by Yusuke Murata tells the story of Saitama, a bald hero capable of overcoming any foe with a single punch. He is frequently bored due to the lack of competition for his strength. As a result, he is on the lookout for a formidable foe.
Season 1 of One Punch Man was released in 2015 by Madhouse. The anime received widespread accolades from the anime community, with fans praising the anime’s detailed animation quality and tempo.
The second season of One Punch Man, created by J.C. Staff, was released in 2019. This time, though, it received a barrage of negative feedback due to its low animation quality and tempo.
Fans were left in the dark as to why the anime changed production companies following the success of the first season. As a result, they hoped that the anime’s production firm would change for the next season.
One Punch Man season 3 was officially announced to be in development three years later, in August 2022. The announcement was accompanied with a new key art of Saitama and Garou, indicating that the forthcoming season would adapt the Monster Association arc. While it was reported that Chikashi Kubota designed the key art, the anime’s production studio was not revealed.
Following that, there was widespread speculation that MAPPA was animating One Punch Man Season 3. Fans were sure that the report was accurate because the stated company had previously taken over the production of Attack on Titan and Vinland Saga from WIT company.
As a result, they hoped that in MAPPA Stage 2023, MAPPA studio would reveal its involvement in creating One Punch Man season 3. As fans are already aware, no such announcement was made during the event.
Fans of the series claims that because MAPPA has taken over multiple anime series at the same time, the studio is currently not focused on One Punch Man season 3. The studio could still be animating the series, which is why they couldn’t divulge anything about it.
Furthermore, it is possible that the MAPPA studio had its hands tied. Given the difficulty of releasing an anime, there is a risk that the studio did not acquire authorization from the original creators, publishers, and broadcasting partners to announce anything about the anime.
Given that the anime has yet to identify its production studio, there is reason to suspect that One Punch Man season 3 will not be premiered anytime soon. This means that the anime may be postponed until 2024.
However, fans should keep in mind that MAPPA has never been announced as the production company for One Punch Man Season 3, so the situation could change drastically.
