The Netflix TUDUM revealed several One Piece live-action adaptation details, know the series release date and budget

Making a TV show out of a shonen series, especially one as successful as Eiichiro Oda’s, is no easy task. Netflix should be aware that due to One Piece’s enormous success, fans have extremely high standards for the manga’s film adaptation.

One Piece Live Action series is all set to release on August 31, 2023, on Netflix worldwide.
The One Piece live-action series, created by Tomorrow Studios and set to premiere on Netflix, was first revealed back in 2017. The show’s creators and showrunners are Steven Maeda and Matt Owens. Other executive producers include Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, and, yes, the incredible Eiichiro Oda.
For now, Netflix has ordered the production of one season consisting of 10 episodes for the live adaptation, with Steven Maeda (CSI: Miami, Lost) and Matt Owens (Luke Cage, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) serving as showrunners and season 1 of One Piece’s live adaptation will cover the East Blue saga from the anime and the manga.
According to some speculations, One Piece Live action’s total budget is $150 Million and they built an entire ship for part of a single episode.

There is just one season of it, and each of its eight episodes is around an hour long. The adaptation will focus on the initial part of One Piece’s plot, the East Blue Saga. If the show is a hit, the story arcs that follow could be switched as well.
Eiichiro Oda’s involvement in One Piece Live Action Series
Fans of One Piece are understandably concerned that the live-action adaptation would disappoint them by diluting the series’ signature blend of humor and epicness. Due to Eiichiro Oda’s early involvement in the production process, this threat should be avoided.
The creator of One Piece reportedly demanded that the live-action adaptation stay true to the manga. It would appear that Netflix appeased him by offering to delay the premiere of the episode until he was satisfied.
