Spoilers for One Piece chapter 1126 start with the supposed title of the issue, “Payback.” The cover narrative of the issue follows Yamato on his trek across Wano, then comes into focus. In reference to the disappearance of the carpenter Minatomo from the last edition of the cover story, they are seen learning that the “soba shop girls” have vanished as well.
The story’s plot is then revealed through spoilers, which start with a battle between the Red Hair Pirates and the Barto Club.
The chapter starts with a swift defeat of Bartolomeo and his pirates, following which Shanks gives them a vial of poison. He gives Bartolomeo a month to murder Luffy by giving him the poison, but out of loyalty to Luffy, he eats the poison himself.
According to previews for One Piece chapter 1126, Shanks foresaw this since he was only attempting to test Bartolomeo’s allegiance to Luffy and the poison was a hoax. Even if Shanks had good intentions in this situation, it’s important to note that Oda seems to be deliberately raising the possibility that Shanks is a villain.
