Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter, Alexander Krassyuk of K2 Promotions, won the rights to Usyk’s heavyweight title defense vs Daniel Dubois with $8,057,000 at today’s WBA purse bid. Frank Warren bid $5,620,050. Fight planned for August.

Aside from the fight between Usyk and Dubois, the co-main event will feature Denys Berinchyk vs. Anthony Yigit.

Ahead of the upcoming fight, Oleksandr Usyk is obviously the clear favorite, as the Ukrainian still holds and undefeated record in his professional career. Moreover, he currently holds the WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles, and just needs the WBC title to become the undisputed heavyweight champion. Usyk’s most recent fights were against heavyweight veteran Anthony Joshua back in August 2022.
Meanwhile, Daniel Dubois is a fierce opponent who is currently great form and has a reputation for his knockout power. Dubois is coming off four straight wins and has an impressive record of 19-1 in pro boxing. The upcoming fight will his biggest test yet.

Since Oleksandr Usyk is the more popular fighter and also the reigning champion, he will receive about three times more than what his opponent Dubois will earn in the upcoming fight. Ahead of the fight, there was a purse bid for the two heavyweight contenders, which concluded with a win for Usyk’s promoter, Alex Krassyuk.
Following the decision from the purse bid, the total fight purse for the upcoming fight is set at $8 million. As such, the fighter salaries have been set based on the previously agreed-upon 75/25 revenue split. Based on this agreement, Oleksandr Usyk will receive about $6 million, while his opponent Daniel Dubois will receive $2 million.
