Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update on why Cristiano Ronaldo is not playing vs Everton

The hero of Manchester United’s Champions League win over Villareal midweek, Cristiano Ronaldo was surprisingly left out of the club’s playing 11 for their impending fixture against Everton in the Premier League.

The Portuguese managed to only make it to the bench for the side’s Saturday afternoon outing, a move which left many disgruntled. Not only were Manchester United fans beleaguered at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s decision but the move also left a string of FPL managers despondent who had decided to make Ronaldo their captain in the game.

Ole has now opened up on the reason of keeping Ronaldo out of the playing 11 with him citing the congested slew of fixtures as the main reason behind the move.

“Well Wednesday night was a big effort, a big emotional and physical output,” Ole said.

“So we needed to freshen it up. When it’s an early kick off the start of this game is going to be important and we’ve got some very good players coming on as well.

“It’s a team we think is going to take charge of the game,” the Norwegian continued.

A slew of outlets in England are reporting that Ronaldo has been left enraged with the decision with the player said to be seething at Ole’s decision. With us in for an international break after this round of ties in the Premier League, Ole’s reasoning does come in as a bemusing one with Ronaldo having scored give goals in five encounters since returning to the club from Juventus.
