According to Know Your Meme portal, the Ohio vs the world meme originated back in 2016 on Tumblr after a user who goes by the name @screenshotofdespair shared a photo.
The user posted an image on which it was written that, “Ohio will be eliminated.” The picture was further circulated to other social media platforms and soon enough it became a trendy meme.
Meanwhile many others started to share things or images with the same captions reading, “only in Ohio.” They all were trying to post things that may be not normally seen by people.
Though the trend originated back in 2016, it has been going on and off from time to time. And lately, it has once again taken over social media.

One user recently took to the video-sharing platform and shared a clip of a bear falling to the ground.
