Because of his immense contribution to the industry and society, he was known as the “Akshaya Mohanty of Jeypore.”
He was a clerk at the office of Jeypore Sub-collector.
He was married and had a son. He died aged 59 due to cardiac arrest.
How Did He Die?
Murali Mohapatra reportedly passed out on stage while giving a performance at a cultural gathering held at the Rajanahar Puja Mandap in Jeypore town. He was transported urgently to the district’s main hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
He was reportedly performing at a concert put up at Rajnagar in honor of Durga Puja. He sang a few songs, then sat on a chair on the stage to watch other performers. During this time, he eventually collapsed.
He was taken in a medical emergency and afterward pronounced dead at the District Headquarters Hospital. He reportedly suffered a heart attack and medically, that was his actual cause of death.
