Prediction
The first-ever ATP Astana Open has certainly been a success after two thrilling semifinal matches and a week of generally high-quality tennis, and the excitement should continue in Sunday’s final match.
The semifinal matchup with Daniil Medvedev marked Djokovic’s first set loss since Wimbledon. The Serb had won 17 straight sets prior to losing the opening set 6-4, but he bounced back to win the second set 8-6 in a tiebreak thanks to a solid performance. Along with winning titles, Tsitsipas also advanced the finals in the Australian Open, Rotterdam, Rome, and Cincinnati.
