The two have just met once at the group stage of the ATP World Tour Finals where the Serbian outlasted the player from Russia in straight sets.

Prediction

Rublev has played more games than Djokovic this tennis season so far where the Russian came past some seeded and quality players. The 24-year-old has already won the Dubai Tennis Championships and Open 13 trophy whereas Djokovic has reached the first final of his 2022 tennis season.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion looked considerably better than he had in the past and appeared to have regained his form. With only two events played this year other than in Serbia, the Serb had rallied into the final stage and is looking forward to clinching his first trophy of the season. Despite only competing in the Dubai Tennis Championships and the Monte Carlo Masters, where he exited early in the quarterfinals and Round of 32, respectively, top-seeded Novak looked considerably different, and it seems his consistency and form are levelling better and better game by game.
