Not Others is the newest Korean drama to capture the attention of viewers. It premiered on TNA, a South Korean network, on July 17, 2023, adapted from the webtoon of the same name (Strangers in English).

Episode 5 will release on Monday, 31 July 2023, at 10 PM Korean Standard Time (KST).

With a good star cast and an interesting plot to carry it forward, the show will be a mini-series of twelve episodes airing on Mondays and Tuesdays until August 22, 2023.

The narrative of a mother and daughter who are polar opposites who must learn to live together despite their differences features well-known performers including Jeon Hye-jin, Choi Soo-young, Ahn Jae-wook, and Park Sung-hoon.

Lee Min-woo directed the film that Min Seon-ae wrote. The webcomic Strangers by Jung Young Rong served as inspiration for Not Others. Visit the humble abode of Kim Eun-mi (Jeon Hye-jin), a young woman who gave birth while still a high school student. She is now in her thirties and lives with her daughter, the police officer Kim Jin-hee (Choi Soo-young), who is 29.

Eun Jae-won (Park Sung-hoon), the director of the police station, would eventually develop romantic feelings for Jin-hee, helping to defuse the tension between the two main characters. Many readers enjoyed the original webtoon over its three-year run (2019–2022) on the internet. TV news outlet People Entertainment confirmed Choi Soo-young’s role in Not Others, lending credence to Park Sung-hoon’s social media post in which he tagged the actress. In March of 2023, production on the series wrapped.

Choi Soo-young, who plays Kim Jin-hee, has starred in numerous hit Korean dramas, including Run On and So I Married an Anti-fan. She is a member of Girls’ Generation, a successful SM Entertainment girl group of the second generation. Jeon Hye-jin, known for roles in films like A Taxi Driver and Beast and TV shows like I’m Sorry, I Love you, plays her mother, Eun-mi.

The pairing of Park Sung-hoon (the color-blind boy) from The Glory and Soo-young in Not Others is a novel one. Ahn Jae-wook, of Star in My Heart and Mouse and Netflix’s Busted, plays Dr. Park Jin-hong, a reticent and secretive surgeon who once played a role in Kim Eun-mi’s life.
