By clinching his maiden classical win against Magnus Carlsen in the third round of the Norway Chess 2024, Indian GM Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu emerged as the new leader with 5.5 points. Meanwhile, GM Fabiano Caruana managed a classical win against GM Ding Liren to sit in second place with 5 points. On the other hand, GM Hikaru Nakamura triumphed over GM Alireza Firouzja in an Armageddon match.
In the Women’s Norway Chess, all three matches were decided in Armageddon. GM Humpy Koneru defeated GM Lei Tingjie on demand. Later, GM Pia Cramling drew her game as White, which awarded 1.5 points to GM Ju Wenjun.
