At the Viaplay Nordic Darts Masters, Fallon Sherrock breezed past Darius Labanauskas to set up a quarter-final clash against in-form Michael Smith, as the PDC World Series of Darts event got underway in Copenhagen on Friday.
Nordic Darts Masters 2022 Tournament Format
In the first round, the best of 11 legs was used in all matches. Meanwhile, in the quarterfinal, all matches will be played in a best of 19 leg format. A Best of 21 Legs format will also be used for the Semi-final and Final matches.

2022 Nordic Darts Masters Latest Results, Venue, Draw, and Playing Line-up
Last year’s runner-up Sherrock returned in style from her New York loss in the second staging of the Scandinavian extravaganza, which saw all eight PDC stars defeat their Nordic & Baltic opponents. The 27-year-old overcame early fears to defeat former World Championship quarter-finalist Labanauskas 6-1 in Copenhagen, as the Lithuanian had an evening to forget.
Sherrock, on the other hand, took full advantage of the situation, following up a stunning 142 finish in the last leg with a 15-darter to book her place in Saturday’s quarter-finals. Sherrock will now face Smith, the winner of the US Darts Masters, in the final eight as the St Helens star started his quest for back-to-back World Series titles with a 6-2 victory against Danish number one Vladimir Andersen.
Meanwhile, 2017 winner Michael van Gerwen defeated Dutch-born American Jules van Dongen 6-4. Van Gerwen will now face James Wade in the quarterfinals, when the left-hander defeated Canadian number one Jeff Smith 6-2.
In other action, defending champion Michael van Gerwen began his title defence with a commanding 6-1 victory over experienced Finnish player Marko Kantele. Van Gerwen cruised to victory with 157 and 103 finishes in back-to-back legs, and he will now face James Wade in the Cazoo Premier League Play-Offs on Monday. Wade started his season with a 6-3 victory over Madars Razma, despite the Latvian’s remarkable 154 checkout midway through the match.
In Copenhagen, World Champion Peter Wright put on the show of the night, averaging 103.66 in a rout of big stage debutant Matthas Fridriksson.
