The first “No Honking Twenty20 Series” has been launched by the Road Safety World Series. This innovative project, which will be carried out by cricket stars, aims to raise awareness of the pressing need for safer roads in India.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the Ministry of Information and Technology, and the Ministries of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, promote the ‘No Honking Twenty20 Series’, a continuation of the well-liked Road Safety World Series.

Three teams from India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh will compete in the three-match series, which gets underway at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose ground in Mira-Bhayandar (West).

The series is a novel idea that unites India Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, and Bangladesh Legends to promote and address excessive honking, a major noise pollution issue in the nation.

Meanwhile, The ‘No Honking Twenty20 Series’ organisers announced the postponement of the competition to October 15–22, 2023 which was previously planned for September from 16th to 18th. The decision was taken following the weather and heavy rainfall in the city. Here is all you need to know about the inaugural competition.

  • Game 1: September 16 – Bangladesh Legends vs Sri Lanka Legends, 7:30 pm IST
  • Game 2: September 17 – India Legends vs Sri Lanka Legends, 7:30 pm IST
  • Game 3: September 18 – India Legends vs Bangladesh Legends, 7:30 pm IST

Where will the No Honking T20 series be held?

The three-match series, will be played at Mumbai’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose stadium.

All matches will begin at 7.30 PM onwards LIVE & Exclusive on DD Sports and Eurosport India and tickets for the RSWS No Honking tournaments are available at the box office of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose ground, Mumbai.

Who will play in the No Honking T20 series?

India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be participating in 1st edition of the competition. The tournament will include legendary players from the above-mentioned countries.

The India Legends team will be led by former internationals like Naman Ojha, Stuart Binny, Ashok Dinda, Vinay Kumar, Manpreet Gony, Abhimanyu Mithun, and more. Gautam Gambhir, Ambati Rayudu, R.P. Singh, and Munaf Patel will also play.

Legends like Sanath Jayasuriya, Chaminda Vaas, Romesh Kaluwitharana, and Upul Tharanga will also compete in the event for Sri Lanka Legends, while Abdur Razzak, Habibul Bashar, and Mohammed Rafique will represent Bangladesh Legends.
