2021 Nitto ATP Finals: Semi-finals Results, Score And Players

Singles

  1. Alexander Zverev defeated Novak Djokovic (7-6, 4-6, 6-3)

It was a rematch of the US Open semi-finals. This time the German got better of the Serbian. The first set was neck to neck, but Zverev sealed it in the tiebreak.

In the second set, things became even when Djokovic sealed it comfortably by 6-4. It was all down to the third set and Zverev played his heart out. He made Djokovic run all over the court and booked his ticket to the final.

2. Daniil Medvedev defeated Casper Ruud  (6-4, 6-2)

It was an easy night for Medvedev to become one step closer to winning his second ATP Finals Title. He defeated Ruud in straight sets and as a matter of fact, Ruud has never won a single set against Medvedev.

  1. Pierre Herbert/ Nicolas Mahut defeated Marcel Granollers/ Horacio Zeballos  (6-3, 6-4)

Herbert/ Mahut had a rusty start to their campaign. They had lost to Rajeev Ram/ Joe Salisbury in the group stages whom now they have to face in the finals.

Talking about this match, the French duo were ruthless, they totally dominated the game and won both the sets by a margin of 6-3, 6-4.

2. Rajeev Ram/ Joe Salisbury defeated Nikola Mektic/ Mate Pavic  (4-6, 7-6, 10-4)

It was a very close battle. The match could have gone anyway. For the majority of the match, it felt that Mektic/ Pavic will win the match. However, things turned in the second set tiebreak when the sets were equaled.

It was, however, a disappointing performance in the final tiebreak from the world number seed.

The only reason is that the latter have defeated the french duo in this tour in the group stages. Hence that defeat would be in the player’s back of the mind and play a role in the finals.

2. Alexander Zverev vs Daniil Medvedev

  • Alexander Zverev- + 155
  • Daniil Medvedev- (-185)

Winner- Daniil Medvedev

The odds are with the Russian, and so are the predictions. Medvedev has defeated Zverev in the recent past. And even if we look at the type of tennis both the players are playing, Medvedev seems to have an upper hand.
