Recent Controversy During RR vs DC
The Delhi Capitals were defeated by Rajasthan Royals by 15 runs at the Wankhede Stadium, and captain Rishabh Pant feels his team was undone by an on-field umpire’s mistake.
Rovman Powell struck six of the first two balls of the over to left-arm bowler Obed McCoy, with Delhi Capitals needing 36 runs in the last six balls. He struck a full toss ball for a maximum in the third ball, and that full toss was a no-ball, according to Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant and club management.
Pant threatened to surrender the match if the on-field umpire would not issue a no-ball and refused to consult the third umpire, thus he summoned Powell and Kuldeep Yadav.
On-field umpires Nitin Menon and Nikhil Patwardhan refused to budge when assistant coach Praveen Amre visited the field to suggest that the umpires move to the third umpire.
