The Friday Night Funkin’ developer, ninja_muffin99, faced criticism after he liked and favourited multiple works of rule 34 fan art, including aged-up artwork of underage anime characters on Twitter and Newgrounds, and made what some deemed an inappropriate joke about Palestine about the 2023 Hamas vs. Israel Conflict.

This backlash is known as the Ninjamuffin Palestine Joke and Newgrounds and X (formerly known as Twitter) Likes Controversy which began in late December 2023. The coder has been the target of backlash from online users after like multiple jokes about the ongoing Middle East war on X.

Friday Night Funkin’ developer Ninja_muffin99 has been under fire for allegedly being racist and transphobic in the past. He apologised for the remarks in an X post in 2021, saying he was merely trying to be shocking at the time.

What happened?

An old tweet from 2021 has been circulating on the internet. In the same, NinjaMuffin and another X platform user have an enlightening, humorous discussion about Israel and Palestine.

In 2021, NinjaMuffin spoke with platform user @JohnnyUtahNG on X. “Does Johnnyutah say free Palestine?” the former questioned the latter. The latter replied: “and I was gonna buy you a steak tonight… oh look there it goes the free steak vanished.

Taylor remarked, “As they carried on talking,”oh ok!!! no freeing Palestine!!! steak pleases steak pleasies.”

On December 19, Taylor took to X to address the troubling tweet conversation, and that same day, the tweet was removed. According to what he stated on the website: “No memes no jokes no b*llsh*t, do very strongly believe Palestine should be free, and what Israel has been doing is f**ked, horrifying, and heartbreaking.”

The same day, Taylor liked an offensive image of the cartoon character Hatsune Miku, who is only 16 years old, according to a screenshot posted on the website by X user @Gelzazz.

Meanwhile, according to a user @spiderfan4635, he revealed on social media that this was not the only offensive and disturbing thing he has been engaged with. It had been stated that he had appreciated several paintings that featured young people in suggestive situations.
