A of now, there is no confirmed official cause of death, however, reports indicate that MohBad died after being exposed to harmful substances.

MohBad, real name Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, was a Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter who was born on 8 June 1996, in Lagos, Nigeria. He was just 27 years old at the time of his death. He passed away on 12 September 2023. MahBod was famous for his hit tracks like Peace, Pariwo, KPK and Komajesun.

Following the tragic death, YBNL music executive Olamide took to Twitter to confirm the news of the musician’s passing. He tweeted “Damn”, alongside the musician’s name and a heartbreak emoji.
Moreover, an official statement on MohBad’s Instagram account read:
It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of Promise Oladimeji Aloba PK/A Mohbad (Imole) today; the 12 of September 2023. Mohbad was Light until the very end, and as we mourn the loss of the brightness he carried, the family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Imole is finally at Peace.”
MohBad cause death shrouded in mystery
Interestingly, MohBad’s death has been shrouded in mystery coupled with reports of the use of “juju”. “Juju” is an African word which refers to substances infused with “magical power.” Such substances are generally used for healing physical and spiritual ailments, but users can also it for other nefarious purposes.
Following the tragic death, an old video of fellow Nigerian singer Bella Schmurda claiming that MohBad was battling mental health issues has gone viral once again on social media. Bella further claimed that the rapper attempted suicide earlier this year following problems in the music industry. He further claimed that the rapper’s girlfriend approached him and others in distress while claiming that Aloba was trying to take her life.
Interestingly, some reports revealed a series of leaked messages about MohBad’s cause of death. The reports state the he was “hit with juju” during a Ikorodu, Lagos state show. The text message allegedly referring to Aloba, states:
The person that called me said they hit him with juju in at the show in Ikorodu”
According to further reports, Aloba was taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries. However, he “passed out and did not wake up after.”
Another set of reports claim that the MohBad died from a middle ear infection called Otitis. Otitis is a disease that causes immense redness, swelling, and excess fluid in one’s eardrum. It is caused by bacteria and viruses. As of now, none of this reports about his MohBad’s cause of death have been confirmed.
Mohbad has an Instagram account with handle, @iammohbad, where he has over 2M followers and 49 Posts.
Net worth
According to various sources, MohBad had an estimated net worth of around $200,000 around the time of his death.
His wife, Omowunmi, said the late singer lived with fears in a cryptic post on Instagram.
