The NFL announced the Super Bowl referee for 2023 just last week and five of the eight officials listed already have prior experience of managing a Super Bowl game.

The Super Bowl is a massive event where many fans turn up to watch the game. As such, NFL fans are always curious to find out just how much Super Bowl referees earn for officiating such matches.

Fans should know that referees are usually paid a flat rate of their salary. However, they do get some bonuses for officiating playoff games. Although not confirmed, NFL referees earn salaries ranging around $205,000 per year. Meanwhile senior and experienced officials can even earn up to a reported $250,000 annually.

Referees can around $1,500 to $5,000 during the playoff games for each match they supervise. However, for the final Super Bowl game, NFL referees can earn around $40,000 to $50,000.

The NFL have appointed Carl Cheffers as the referee for the Super Bowl 2023 featuring the Chiefs vs the Eagles.

The NFL have appointed a good team of officials for the match up with good experience. Cheffers has already has served as the referee in two Super Bowl games (LIV and LII) in the past. Moreover, some of the other officials like Even Ellison, Bergman, Hall, and Paganelli have all supervised two Super Bowl games each.

For the Super Bowl 2023, The Kansas City Chiefs will go up against the Philadelphia Eagles after winning their own Championship games. The Chiefs beat past the Cincinnati Bengals during their AFC Championship game. Meanwhile the Eagles had to win past the San Francisco 49ers during their NFC title game.

The final showdown will take place at the State Farm Stadium located in Glendale, Arizona. Fans can watch the live broadcast of the game on FOX starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.
