In 2023, the following players signed new contracts with their respective teams: Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers, and Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens. These contracts elevated these three to the NFL’s highest salary bracket. Hurts, Jackson, and Herbert are the only NFL players who will earn more than $50 million this year.
Russell Wilson of the Denver Broncos, who will earn $49 million in pay in 2023, drops to fourth place among NFL players paid the highest salaries. Aaron Rodgers would have placed fourth, but he decided to sign a new deal with the New York Jets, reducing his 2023 salary to $37.5 million (he had almost $110 million left on his previous contract, which the Jets acquired from the Green Bay Packers).
Who is the highest-paid NFL quarterback?
The Los Angeles Chargers signed franchise quarterback Justin Herbert to a five-year, $262.5 million extension in late July, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL. The deal keeps Herbert with the organisation until the 2029 campaign.
