This Sunday, November 5, the 52nd edition of the New York City Marathon will see 50,000 participants, including professionals, celebrities, and weekend warriors. The World Major Marathons’ sixth and final marathon of the year promises to be a quick one.

Alongside the opening ceremony, their will be Marathon Expo on from November 2 to November 4. In addition to providing bibs and race materials, the official marathon expo is one of the biggest in the nation and is brimming with delicacies and equipment. Not to mention the NYRR Running Lab, which offers guidance from elite running coaches, and a Runner’s Wall honouring all 50,000 registered participants.
The race weekend will begin with a celebration at the finish line, followed by fireworks over the finish line during the marathon opening ceremony that honours runners from all over the world who have travelled to participate in the race, a report in Hype Beast, outleat suggests.
Apart from the competitive pursuit of the podium and the $100,000 prize money for each winner, the race organisers have unveiled other technological advancements this week aimed at improving the spectator experience on race day.

The New York Marathon passes through each of New York’s five boroughs: Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island and starting on Staten Island, runners cross the Verazono-Narrows Bridge into Brooklyn. The next twelve miles passes through several Brooklyn neighborhoods and these include Bay Ridge, Sunset Park, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint before reaching the half-way point at Pulaski Bridge. The race then enters Queens. After a further two and a half miles runners leave Queens, passing over the Queensboro Bridge into Manhattan and the race passes along First Avenue and briefly into the Bronx, before returning to Manhattan.
The race then leaves Central Park before returning and finishing to cheering crowds outside Tavern on the Green.

As per the Olympics site, in the tri-state region of New York, the race will be broadcast live on WABC-TV Channel 7. Broadcast globally by multiple overseas broadcasters and in the remaining United States on ESPN2. In some regions, Olympics.com will also provide coverage of the race via Olympic Channel.
