Salary and Earning
While she earned a salary of 15,000 rupees at the news channel, Divya Vasantha began attracting attention on social media, leading to many videos and news about her personal life circulating online.
Police claim that Divya, desiring a luxurious life, chose the wrong way to earn easy money and got into trouble. She is accused of cheating and extorting spas and reputable doctors along with some associates.
What Did the Police Reveal?
The police have arrested 3 people in connection with threatening the manager of a spa under B Nagar police station and attempting to extort money.
Rajnews channel CEO Venkatesh and Divya Vasantha’s brother Sandesh have been arrested, and the police are conducting further inquiries.
The mobile phones of the accused have been seized. Currently, Divya is missing, and investigators are searching for her.
It has been reported that Venkatesh and Divya formed a WhatsApp group named ‘Spy Research Team’ to carry out their misdeeds.
The accused allegedly discussed their deals and plans in this group. Divya, who left her job, remained very active on social media, trying to attract attention by singing rap songs.
Divya, from a middle-class family, allegedly joined hands with extortionists for a luxurious life. Venkatesh introduced her as a presenter for his YouTube channel, and the two started extorting innocent people using online platform.
Their targets includes wealthy individuals, massage parlors, and doctors. During the police investigation, it was found that they used honey traps to extort money from rich people.
The police have gathered information that Venkatesh and Divya’s team extorted over 100 people, with amounts ranging from 50,000 to 1 lakh rupees being transferred to their accounts online.
Venkatesh and Divya’s team hired a young woman from a North Eastern state to work at Shree Spa and Beauty Parlor in Indiranagar. Later, Divya’s brother Sandesh visited the spa disguised as a customer and booked a massage with a girl from their gang.
A video of the encounter was captured on a hidden camera. He then threatened the spa manager with the pre-recorded video, claiming prostitution was occurring at the spa.
The team initially demanded 15 lakh rupees, but later tried to settle for 8 lakh rupees. However, the spa manager went to the police.
The investigating officers arrested Venkatesh and Sandesh and are continuing their search for the other accused.
In connection with the case, Divya Vasantha’s house in Laggere was raided, and items including a camera and laptop were seized.
