Four of the six clubs that will compete in the NepalT20 League’s debut season, which will take place at Tribhuvan University Cricket Stadium from September 24 to October 22, have been unveiled by the Cricket Association of Nepal. According to the organizers, the league’s inaugural season will have participants from all over the world. Kantipur Capital, Biratnagar Superkings, Janakpur Royals, and Lumbini All Stars are the four franchises, whose names have been disclosed as of now. As requested by the owners, the names of the other two franchises weren’t revealed.
The proprietors of the teams were also disclosed by CAN and its strategic partner Seven3sports along with the franchise names. As per the announcment, Mahesh Swar is the owner of Kantipur Capital. Meanwhile, owners of Lumbini All Stars are Sanjay Sharma’s All Star Sports, a company with headquarters in the United States. Janakpur Royals are owned by Gouri Shankar Dhamani’s Gold Sports Foundation, a sports organisation based in Rajasthan, and Biratnagar Superkings are owned by Vikram Yadav’s Diamond Digicap Sports.
Objective of Nepal T20 League, Sponsor Details, And Sponsorship Amount
The NepalT20 League would be Nepal’s Official and CAN Recognized T20 League, the CAN had stated in April of this year. The next competition, according to CAN, would significantly aid in the development of cricket in the country. The league is now recognized as Nepal’s official T20 League by the ICC.
Additionally, CAN has contracted with Indian sports management company Seven3Sports for eight years as a commercial and strategic partner. According to Prashant Malla, the acting secretary of CAN, Seven3sports will give CAN a sponsorship money of about INR 330 million over the course of eight years, or an average of INR 41.25 million per year.
