Neeraj Chopra has been advised to take one month rest after catching the strain in his groin area at World Athletics Championships 2022. He will be out of action for one month, which means he will miss the Commonwealth Games 2022.

On Sunday, Neeraj Chopra created history after winning the silver medal at Oregon 22. He became the only second athlete after Bobby Anju to win a medal in the World Championships. After the fourth attempt of 88.13m, which begged him a silver medal, Neeraj soon realised he had done some damage to his body in the process. Following his triumph, Chopra went for an MRI scan on Monday, based on the scan results, he has been advised to take one month’s rest.

‘‘I did feel a bit on my thigh after my fourth effort. I wasn’t able to put that much effort and eventually strapped my thigh in the process. I will know by morning how it feels or if it’s something serious to worry about, ʼ’ Neeraj Chopra said about his injury.

The Commonwealth game will begin on 28 July, and the news of Neeraj Chopra to miss the competition has shocked everyone. It is a major setback for India, as Neeraj Chopra was a fan favourite to watch out in the Commonwealth Games, 2022 Birmingham.

However, it is not the first time that the Olympic Champion has suffered from an injury. Neeraj Chopra had gone through a lot of injuries in his career.

Before Tokyo Olympics, Neeraj Chopra had to stay away from the competition for eight months

Before making it to the Tokyo Olympics, Neeraj had to distance himself away from the competition for nearly eight months, due to surgery on his right arm. Still recovering from the injury, in 2018, he had to miss the Doha, World Championships. Despite his injuries, Neeraj came back stronger and wins the medals in the same year.
