NCAA college football playoff winners list and winner prize money

Here is the list of the winners of the NCAA College Football Playoff

The 2014–2015 season marked the first time a college football team won the CFP, however, that team never went on to win another significant championship.

There are 43 bowl games, which start on Friday, December 16, when Miami (Ohio) plays UAB in the Bahamas Bowl and culminate on Monday, January 9, with the College Football Playoff National Championship. While No. 1 Georgia plays No. 4 Ohio State in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, No. 3 TCU defeated No. 2 Michigan 51-45 in the College Football Playoff Semifinals.

The College Football Playoff is more recent than most people realise; it is an invited competition that, because it is termed the National Championship, allows the four best Football Bowl Subdivision teams in the current structure to participate. Prior to the CFP, the national champion was determined by a series of polls or bowl games, but those systems were abandoned in 2013, and the College Football Playoff was established the following year in 2014. Since the teams are chosen by a 13-person committee, some detractors claim that the CFP is unfair. Unfair selections for the National Championship have been made in several cases.

In the 2014–2015 season, the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Oregon Ducks 42–20 to become the first team to win a CFP National Championship.

While there is a considerable amount of money involved in college football, the annual distribution of that money, which is done by a predetermined formula, may still surprise you. This is because the formula is more conference-focused than team-focused. As of 2021–2022, each conference will get $6 million from the College Football Playoff for each team selected to play in a semifinal game and an additional $4 million for each team that participates in a non–playoff bowl.
