NBA Sixth Man of the Year 2023 odds: Favorites
Immanuel Quickley – Knicks (-275)
Immanuel Quickley has been impressive this season going from an afterthought to a frontrunner for the Sixth Man of the Year 2023. His odds have gone up thanks to an impressive stretch of performances over the second half of the season.
In the last 12 games, Quickley has scored 17.8 points on 51.3 percent shooting from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point range. Interestingly, he started only in two of those games, helping the Knicks to a 10-2 record.
This season, the former first-round pick has so far averaged 14.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. Moreover, he has also shot 44.8 percent from the field and 36 percent from beyond the arc.
Compared to last year’s Sixth Man of the Year winner Tyler Herro (43.7 FG% and 37.2 3pt%), Quickley has similar stats. However, Herro was the better all-around player with 20.2 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 4.3 APG. Despite this, Quickley has been sensational this season bringing a noticeable spark off the bench for his Knicks team that is 11 games over .500. The team are also the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
Malcolm Brogdon – Boston Celtics (+200)
A large number of bettors still believe that Brogdon can win the Sixth Man of the Year award over Quickley. Brogdon currently has the highest ticket percentage (16.6) and the highest handle percentage (42.0) for the award. This season, the veteran combo guard has averaged 14.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.
Brogdon has been the better shooter than Quickley this season with a 48.4-percent mark from the field and a 44.7-percent from the three-point range. However, but his stats have gone down in the second half of the season. In the past 13 games, Brogdon has averaged 14.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game.
The veteran guard still has more chances to get back up as the Celtics’ still have a couple of important, nationally televised games left.
2023 NBA Sixth Man of the Year betting advice conclusion
Despite Brogdon getting a ton of action for Sixth Man of the Year, Quickley still has the advantage. Quickley still has the momentum and the narrative in his favor. However, it is still hard to bet on him at his current odds.
The best time to bet on Quickley would be right after Brogdon has a good game. This will likely affect the odds, but Quickley still seems to be the better choice at the moment.
