With the four matchups in the 2024 NBA Playoffs all set, the play-in tournament will determine the other four matchups.
NBA play-in tournament 2024 matchups
The play-in tournament will take place from April 16 to April 19, following which the 2024 NBA Playoffs will soon get underway. In the first match, the New Orleans Pelicans will host the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference. The winner of that match will get the No. 7 seed, while the loser will play the winner of the Golden State Warriors at Sacramento Kings for No. 8 seed.
While in the East, the Philadelphia 76ers will host the Miami Heat, where the winner earns the No. 2 seed. Notably, the winner will face off against No. 2 seed, the New York Knicks. The loser of the match will face the winner of the Atlanta Hawks at the Chicago Bulls for the No. 8 seed.

Given below is the NBA play-in tournament format and rules:
The No. 7 seed team will play the No. 8 seed team in each conference. The winner will then get the No. 7 seed in the playoff bracket and compete against the conference’s No. 2 seed.
Meanwhile, the No. 9 seed will play against the No. 10 seed in each conference. The loser of that game will face elimination, while the winner will play the loser of the No. 7 vs. No. 8 seed game. The winner of that match wins the No. 8 seed and will face the No. 1 seed in the official playoff bracket.
