After being deprived of watching the NBA 2020-21 Season action on television, NBA and Star Sports has firmly agreed upon the broadcasting rights for the remainder of the particular season.
Star Sports will be broadcasting the season’s playoffs and finals. But those matches does not refer to the initial round 1 games which are already underway. But just the Conference Finals and NBA Finals as well as weekly selection of games throughout the first two rounds.
The coverage which tipped-off from May 23, 2021 shall also feature the highlights of those games on Star Sports Select.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Star Sports to provide the excitement of the NBA Playoffs to the millions of fans across India,” said NBA India Head of Global Content and Media Distribution, Sunny Malik in a Linkedin post.
NBA in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Nepal for the 2021 NBA Playoffs and The Finals will be streamed on Star Sports Network.
Star Sports has bagged the broadcast rights for NBA in the Indian sub-continent after the deal with incumbent broadcaster Sony Pictures Networks India didn’t get renewed.
Sony Pictures Network was the official broadcast partner of NBA for almost eight years after the two signed a multi-year broadcast deal in November 2012.

Apart from the broadcasting medium, NBA Live Stream in India was only possibly by a subscription to the NBA League Pass.
