For the unfamiliar, NBA All-Star game is the annual game hosted every year by the National basketball association, with featuring at least 24 league’s star players.

The iconic all-star game was inaugurated at the Boston Garden in 1951. The previous year’s game was held in Indianapolis. Since 2022, the game was held on every February’s third Sunday.

This year’s edition will be held between February 14 to February 16, as the NBA All-Star Game is a three-day event which usually take place from Friday to Sunday.

Voting for NBA All-Star 2025

As of now, the voting for NBA All-Star 2025 is open, so fans can head to the official site of NBA to vote for their favorites.

According to the NBA’s official website, this year’s game’s format will see significant changes, however, the traditional structure of 5 starters per conference, with 10 total spots remains unchanged.

Voting Timeline & Process

The voting lines for basketball fans were opened on December 19 at 10 AM ET and the lines will stay open until January 20 till 11:59 pm ET.

As aforesaid, to vote for your favorite player, you need to visit the official website of NBA. Additionally, fans can vote once per day on via NBA App, with an NBA ID, which is required to participate.

The league recommends voting while logged in with an NBA ID, the league’s online membership program which is free to join and there are six special “3-for-1 Days” where NBA ID members’ votes will count three times. The triple voting dates are Dec. 21, Dec. 25, Jan. 3, Jan. 10, Jan. 17 and Jan. 20 and NBA ID members also earn a sweepstakes entry with each vote for the opportunity to win a trip to the San Francisco Bay Area for NBA All-Star 2025. For the unfamiliar, fans account for 50% of the vote to determine starters. The remaining 50% is split evenly between current players and a media panel.

All current NBA players are eligible for All-Star voting and fans can place a vote with one full ballot, which contains up to 10 players, each day and the NBA’s All-Star voting ballot consists of three frontcourt players and two guards from each conference.

Format for the All-Star 2025 game

The 24 All-Stars (10 starters and 14 reserves) will be divided into 4 teams for a mini-tournament:

Reportedly, 3 teams will be drafted by TNT analysts Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith during the NBA All-Star Draft on February 6.

Meanwhile, the 4th team will composed of the winner of the NBA Rising Stars Game, featuring top rookies, sophomores, and NBA G League standouts.
