It is confirmed that the National Games Of India 2023 will introduce several fresh sporting events, such as beach football, roll ball, golf, sepaktakraw, sqay martial arts, kalliyarapattu, and pencak silat. Furthermore, yachting and taekwondo are making a comeback after being absent in the previous edition. Recently, the State Sports Minister, Govind Gaude, officially announced that this prestigious event will take place in Goa from October 26 to November 9.

2023 National Games Of India schedule, date, venue, opening ceremony, & participating teams
The National Games are making a comeback and are just around the corner, following the successful 2022 edition that took place in six different cities across Gujarat. This time, the event will be held in Goa, and the Chief Minister of the state, Pramod Sawant, has officially announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Games 2023 in Panjim on October 26, 2023. While the formal opening is scheduled for October 26, some sports have already commenced, such as Badminton, which started on October 19 in Panjim.
Five cities, namely Mapusa, Margao, Panjim, Ponda, and Vasco, will collectively host various sporting disciplines. Additionally, Delhi will be responsible for organizing the track cycling races and overseeing the golf competition. Notably, this marks the 37th edition of the National Games, and it’s the very first time that Goa has been chosen as the host. The National Games 2023 will encompass a record-breaking 42 sports, encompassing both Olympic and indigenous sports like kho kho, yogasana, and mallakhamb, all of which made their debut in the previous edition.

When & Where to watch: live stream & telecast
In 2022, more than 7,000 athletes competed in 36 sports, and it’s anticipated that in 2023, the number of athletes will exceed 10,000. To ensure widespread access, the National Games 2023 will be streamed live via the Prasar Bharati Sports YouTube channel and the DD Sports TV channel will provide live broadcast.
