On Saturday, the 2023 National Games witnessed a historic day as Maharashtra achieved an astonishing feat by securing 26 Gold medals. Maharashtra’s athletes showcased their dominance across various disciplines, accumulating a total of 42 medals and extending their lead to 78 medals in the overall standings. The defending champions, Services Sports Control Board, also made a substantial impact on Day 4, adding eight medals to their count, maintaining their third-place position in the standings. Second-placed Haryana had an impressive day with 14 medals on Saturday, solidifying their standing in the medals tally.

2023 National Games Of India results today, medal winners, & day 5 schedule
In sporting action, the Haryana men’s team outshone Maharashtra to claim the Gold in rugby, while Odisha emerged victorious in the women’s rugby final against Bihar. Haryana’s men’s and women’s teams both secured Gold medals in the Netball – Fast 5 events. Rajasthan entered the top ten by winning Gold in the Basketball men’s 3×3 event, while Telangana clinched the women’s event in the same category.
Maharashtra athletes showcased their dominance in gymnastics, with Sanyukta Kale winning the Gold in the women’s Rhythmic Apparatus Clubs. The table-topping Maharashtra team continued their dominance in Mallakhamb events, securing Gold in both the men’s and women’s Pole/Hanging/Rope events. In the realm of fencing, Services claimed Gold medals in the men’s Sabre and men’s Epee events, while Punjab emerged victorious in the women’s Sabre team event. The host state, Goa, also made significant progress on Saturday, accumulating a total of 14 medals, including one Gold.
