Maharashtra is currently leading in the medal tally standings of the ongoing National Games 2025. They have so far won a total of four medals, including two gold, one silver, and one bronze. Maharashtra won their first gold medal in the Mixed Team Relay event on January 27. Meanwhile, Manipur are behind in second place with two medals (one gold and one silver).
Behind them are Madhya Pradesh, who are currently placed in third in the medal tally standings with two medals. They have won one silver and one bronze, which includes a silver medal in the Triathlon Mixed Team Relay event. In fourth place is Tamil Nadu, who have won just one medal so far, a bronze in the Triathlon Mixed Team Relay event.
National Games 2025
The National Games 2025 is organised by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and feature over 10,000 athletes, coaches, and officials. The event features athletes from across different states, union territories, and institutions competing for medals. This year’s event marks the 38th edition of the Games, and it will feature 32 sports alongside four demonstration events, including Mallakhamb, Kalarippayattu, Rafting, and Yogasana.
The opening ceremony of the event took place on Tuesday (January 28, 2025) at the iconic Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uttarakhand. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, attended the opening ceremony and announced the official commencement of the competition.
