On 4th July, Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest 2023 will take place and it is confirmed that the men’s competition will begin at 12 PM ET after the women’s competition, which starts at 10:45 AM ET.

How the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest works?
Aside from the celebrations, the Fourth of July can only mean one thing: the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. The renowned competition has not only been going on for a long time, but it is also one of the most well-liked events. Notably, this event has been held regularly since 1967 and several rules are in place to ensure the deserving winner is decided.
According to the format, this contest is won by the person who can consume the most hot dogs in ten minutes. During this competition, participants can utilize condiments and drinks for ease of consumption. If any competitor vomits, they will be disqualified immediately. If there is a tie, the competitors compete to determine who can consume five hot dogs the fastest. Meanwhile, one sudden-death eating contest in which the winner must consume one more hot dog in the shortest amount of time will be held if there are any further ties.
During the event, participants must eat as many Nathan’s Famous hot dogs in buns as they can within a 10 minute period and each contestant gets their own scorekeeper who notes the number of hot dogs eaten during the contest window.
Rules of the hot dog eating contest: Competitors have 10 minutes to consume as many hot dogs and buns as possible and they are allowed water to aid them.
First place: $10,000; Second place: $5,000; Third place: $2,500; Fourth place: $1,500; Fifth place: $1,000
