The stadium is so far set to host three matches, starting with a clash against the Mumbai Indians, following which they will play against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings.

The Narendra Modi Stadium, also known as the Motera Stadium, was renamed by the Gujarat Cricket Association. The GCA renamed it after the current Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who served as the president of Gujarat Cricket Association from 2009-2014. The stadium, which was built in 1983 and later expanded in 2020, is the world’s largest cricket stadium. It is set to host at least seven matches for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Throughout the past few years, the stadium has served as the home to Gujarat state teams, the Indian cricket team as well as the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL during seasons 2010, 2014 and 2015. However, it is now the sole home to local team Gujarat Titans.

The stadium features five black soil pitches and six red soil pitches. While the black soil pitches offer better bounce, the red soil pitches dry sooner. However, this hardly matters in T20 matches because the batters have scored freely when batting first in recent matches.

According to weather forecast reports, temperatures could rise to a maximum of 38°C to 42°C during March. However, it will cool down slightly during the nights with temperatures reducing as low as 24°C to 28°C. Meanwhile, during matchdays in April and May, the temperatures could rise from 40°C to 42°C. This could further reduce to a low of 25°C to 27°C with some potential of summer rains around the end of May.
