Naby Keita Transfer: Naby Keita Eyes La Liga Move After Growing Disgruntled With Jurgen Klopp

Naby Keita Transfer: The player has been a dismal flop for Liverpool ever since his much talked about expensive move to the Premier League

When Liverpool had opened the strings of their purse for Naby Keita back in 2018, the hype surrounding the old RB Leipzig player was mammoth. Catching Liverpool’s eye with his ability to traverse past tight spaces and transition the ball from defence to attack, Keita was touted to add the much needed spark to Liverpool’s midfield.

However, far from becoming a mainstay of Liverpool’s playing 11, Naby Keita has struggled to even find himself a place on the bench. A Liverpool career fraught by injuries hasn’t been helped by lacklustre and listless performances whenever he’s been accorded a chance to impress.

However, rather than Liverpool wanting to part company with him, its surprisingly Naby Keita who is pushing for a move away from the side. The midfielder is said to be despondent with a lack of minutes, frugal time on the pitch which has lead to Keita being left dismayed with Klopp.

Naby Keita Transfer: Keita Aspires Atletico Madrid Move

According to Spanish outlet AS the Guinea international has instructed his representatives to push through to a move to Atletico. While the La Liga champions are not pursuing a move for his signature as of yet, Keita is said to be extremely moving to switching to greener pastures.

Keita whose current deal at Liverpool runs till 2023 has previously also sparked talk of wanting to leave Liverpool. Keita’s agent Malick Kebe took to Twitter to criticise Klopp earlier this year, urging the German boss to play his client in the correct position.

“The day that Coach Klopp gets Naby Keita to play in his favourite role, you see what he will bring to Liverpool,” said Kebe.

“He is a playmaker, not a scavenger. Good to hear, hi.”

Liverpool are meanwhile likely to lose the services of Georginio Wijnaldum. The midfielder who runs out of contract at the end of the ongoing season is currently scouring for a new club after a plausible move to Barcelona fell through.
